THERMODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE FOR THE SOLAR COLLECTOR OF A MICRO-COMBINED COOLING, HEATING AND POWER SYSTEM
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 10 › Nr. 9 Abstract:The paper presents a computer modelling and experimental validation for the thermodynamic performance of parabolic troughsolar collectors (PTSC) used in a micro-combined cooling,e heating and power (mCCHP) system. The thermal efficiency, fluidoutlet temperature, heat gain and heat and optical losses of the collector are calculated depending on the collector geometry, optical properties, fluid properties, fluid inlet temperature and flow rate, solar insolation, wind speed and ambient temp... IMMOBILIZATION OF CONIDIOBOLUS CORONATUS ALKALINE PROTEASE ON WASTE FUNGAL BIOMASS
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 10 › Nr. 11 Abstract:Alkaline protease from Conidiobolus coronatus which is optimally active at pH 10 and 40°C finds application in leather and detergent industries as well as for recovery of silver from waste photographic films. The protease was immobilized in Ca-alginate, polyacrylamide gel and alkali treated waste fungal biomass (ATWFB). ATWFB was found to be most suitable among the matrices tested. Glutaraldehyde marginally increased the binding to ATWFB. Binding of protease to ATWFB seems to be through... WEB-BASED FLOOD INFORMATION SYSTEM: CASE STUDY OF SOMESUL MARE, ROMANIA
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 12 › Nr. 5 AbstractThis paper presents research into conceptualisation, design and implementation of an innovative web-based virtual environmentfor flood information sharing and dissemination. A system intended to be used by flood management authorities and potentiallyaffectedcitizens is demonstrated. Latest technological advances for collection, archiving and sharing of environmental data usingweb-based Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) are used for system implementation. Flood-related data and models are... Autori: Adrian Almoradie, Andreja Jonoski, Dimitri Solomatine, Florin Stoica, Ioana Popescu ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26045
METRIC AND NON-METRIC CAMERAS CALIBRATION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF REAL-TIME MONITORING PROCESS RESULTS
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 12 › Nr. 4 AbstractIn recent years non-metric digital cameras have known a great development, being used in wide applications, such as: real timemonitoring and preservation of cultural heritage, the shoreline dynamics study, the wave movement for costal protection, soilerosion, etc. Clasic photogrammetry with the use of metric cameras are still of great use in areas such as architecture andenvironmental imaging. An old problem occurs when we want to extract metric information from our environment using clo... Autori: Ersilia Oniga, Maximilian Diac ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26061
IMPACT AND RISK OF INSTITUTIONALIZED ENVIRONMENTS ON THE PSYCHO-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE HIV-POSITIVE YOUTH
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 13 › Nr. 12 Abstract
The purpose of the research is to highlight the impact of two aspects defining personal identity: the HIV/AIDS status and family
background, on the individual self esteem of young people having grown up in a family or an orphanage environment.
We evaluated 93 young people from families and placement centers, both HIV-positive and HIV-negative, for a period of 12
months, from January to December 2013. We used the Self Esteem Inventory to evaluate their overall self esteem, as well as... Autori: Carmen Manciuc ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26607
DICLOFENAC REMOVAL FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS BY ELECTROOXIDATION AT BORON-DOPED DIAMOND (BDD) ELECTRODE
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 14 › Nr. 6 Abstract
Diclofenac (DCF), which belongs to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), is a biorefractory micropollutant and its
removal from wastewaters has become strongly necessary. This paper dealt with the DCF removal from aqueous solutions by
electrooxidation at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode. In addition, the dual character of BDD electrode in electrochemical
degradation processes and their control was investigated. The electrooxidation process was assessed based on ultraviol... Autori: Monica Ihos ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26755
MULTIVARIATE OPTIMIZATION TO DECREASE TOTAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF ABBIATEGRASSO (MILAN, ITALY)
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 14 › Nr. 9 Abstract
The application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for water supply systems has steadily increased in the
last 20 years. The city of Milan is presented as case study where the main challenge for the coming 20 years is the efficient use of
energy. Opposite to other parts of the world, in Milan, water is neither scarce nor there is a growing need for supply. Given that
the system completely relies on pumping, optimization algorithms and sensor technologies can be appl... Autori: Mario E. Castro Gama ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26826
ASSESSMENT OF STRUCTURE INFLUENCE ON THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF HEMP SHIVES COMPOSITE
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 15 › Nr. 3 In past ten years area of green technologies and materials was the most growing industry sector in the world. It is related with
global warming, air pollution and energy saving. Building sector intensively increased air pollution and is related with high
energy consumptions. The use of renewable or recyclable materials can reduce these problems.
In current work, thermal insulating materials from hemp shives and corn starch were investigated. Structures of various shives
fractions were analyz... Autori: Giedrius Balčiūnas ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26992
INFLUENCE OF FREEZING/THAWING AND DRYING/MILLING ON BIOCHEMICAL METHANE POTENTIAL
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 15 › Nr. 7 In studies of biochemical methane production (BMP) researchers often collate a large number of samples at the same time for a
sample archive. The samples are often frozen to avoid microbial transformation, further homogenized by grinding. We studied
the influence of subfreezing/thawing and drying/milling of energy crop on BMP and anaerobic biodegradability (BD). Relative
standard deviation (RSD, %) between the BMP of controls and of the subfrozen was in the range 2.1–9.0%, and of the
