Bioleaching of uranyl ions from uranium ores by some algae
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 6 › Nr. 1 AbstractIt was investigated the bioleaching of uranyl ions from uranium ores, in aquatic medium with algae: Scenedesmus quadricauda and Nostoc linkia under different experimental conditions. The oxidation of U(IV) to U(VI) species, like uranyl ions was done by means of the atomic oxygen generated through photosynthesis by the aquatic medium from solution above of uranium ores. After almost 10 days of direct contact with the given microorganisms, it was observed a bioleaching degree between 10% an... BIO-MECHANICAL LEACHING OF URANIUM FROM LOW GRADE BLACK SHALE
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 14 › Nr. 12 Abstract
The present study was designed to determine the sound effects of ultrasonic treatment and the biologically mediated extraction of
uranium from low grade black shale. Low grade uranium was subjected to fungal treatments assisted by sonication by
conventional methods. In situ fungal leaching of black shale with different fungal strains in the presence of molasses as growth
substrate resulted in highest leaching yield of uranium by Phoma tropica (57.73%) compared to Penicillium chrysog... Autori: Fozia Anjum ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26919
ASSESSMENT OF THE MOBILITY OF SELECTED ELEMENTS IN BIOLEACHED MINING WASTE FROM ZLOTY STOK (POLAND)
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 16 › Nr. 2 Different bioleaching processes were applied to mining wastes deposited in the highly polluted post-industrial region - Lower
Silesia in Poland. The chemical characterization of the wastes before and after bioleaching processes was performed. The
characterisation was based on the distribution of selected elements (Fe, Mn, As, Co, Cr, Cu and Ni) between operationally-defined phases. The phases were defined using a six-step extraction procedure optimised according to the properties of the studie... CHEMICAL OXIDATION INTEGRATED INTO BIOLEACHING OF PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE USING IMMOBILIZED BIOMASS
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 17 › Nr. 4 Chemical oxidation of pyrite and chalcopyrite by ferric sulfate (Fe2(SO4)3) solution and biogenic ferric iron obtained by mixed culture of isolated thermotolerant Acidithiobacillus sp. 13Zn and Leptospirilum ferriphilum CC immobilized on natural carriers- zeolite and shungite was studied. Oxidation rate of sulfide minerals was estimated by the decrease of Fe3+ (oxidant) and increase of Fe2+ ions in the solution. It was revealed that chemical oxidation of chalcopyrite by biogenic ferric iron occu... Autori: Arevik Vardanyan ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=27563
