Floodplain revegetation and river basin restoration
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 6 › Nr. 4 AbstractDuring the modern history the ability of plant roots to consolidate and strengthen the soil was exploited twice in France: once in1867 by Joseph Monier who created the reinforced concrete, and then in 1962 by Henry Vidal who created structured soils. The paper presents the some results obtained on the ecological protection of floodplain in major riverbeds. The aerodynamic modeling represents an efficient, economic and easy way to work with. The main condition of successful experiments is ... The environmental impact assessment caused by the dykes failure
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 8 › Nr. 3 Abstract
The paper presents a risk analysis and assessment of the defence linear systems failure (dykes) in case of accidental flood. Also, breach scenarios and hydrographs computation for the corresponding accidental high waters are provided. The impact assessment is highlighted through a global matrix model for costs quantification.
It is also presented the flooding computation model for different versions of the linear defence systems and in a correspondent way the Inundation Accidental D... Autori: Codruta Badaluta-Minda, Gheorghe Creţu ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=25433
EFFECT OF BATCH TIME ON THE PARETO OPTIMAL OPERATING SOLUTIONS FOR A CHEMICAL REACTOR BASED ON FAILURE PROBABILITY INDICES
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 12 › Nr. 2
Abstract
Recently, a new failure probability index was introduced that characterizes the operation of highly sensitive chemical reactors
(i.e. when highly exothermic / hazardous reactions are conducted). Based on this, the current paper exemplifies the application of
the risk analysis methodology proposed to generate the Pareto optimal operating solutions accounting for reactor productivity
maximization (product yield) and probabilistic risk minimization. The multi-objective optimi... Autori: Anca Dan ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26108
OPTIMIZATION OF ANAEROBIC BAFFLED REACTOR (ABR) USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK IN MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 13 › Nr. 1 AbstractThis study is focused on simulating and optimizing design and configuration of anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) by means ofartificial neural network (ANN). This approach is aimed to assess an efficient ABR performance in various operational conditionstreating municipal wastewater. For this purpose, to analyze comprehensively on a base of experimental data, the system isoperated in two pilots of 48 liters net volume made of 8 compartments. In 7 months, more than 130 sets of data are obtain... Autori: Gagik Badalians Gholikandi ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=26260
ANAEROBIC-AEROBIC BAFFLED REACTOR TREATING REAL MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER IN A LOW INCOME COMMUNITY
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 17 › Nr. 3 Inadequate sanitation and poor infrastructure for waterborne sanitation are common in many developing countries. The
anaerobic/aerobic baffled reactor (AABR) is a sustainable option for water sanitation in developing countries. In the present study,
a 2.50 m3 AABR reactor working with real municipal wastewater was monitored. Four sequenced chambers, the first three being
anaerobic and the fourth aerobic composed the AABR reactor. AABR efficiency and performance were examined during four

NUTRIENT REMOVAL IN A WET DETENTION POND WITH BAFFLE DIKE – A CASE STUDY OF THE CEDAR RIVER PROJECT
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 17 › Nr. 9 The City of Jacksonville, Florida USA is in the midst of an important program to reduce nutrient load from its municipal storm water system. New regulations promulgated by the US EPA and State of Florida have targeted nutrient reduction within the St. Johns River watershed which includes most of the City of Jacksonville. In order to reduce overall nutrient loads to the St. Johns River, the City of Jacksonville and its consultant team have begun a construction program to build a series of wet det... SIMULTANEOUS TREATMENT OF SULFATE WASTEWATER AND DOMESTIC SEWAGE WITH MICRO-AERATION
Environmental Engineering and Management Journal › Vol. 17 › Nr. 11 High sulfide inhibited the activities of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and methane-producing bacteria (MPB). In addition, a large number of domestic sewages should be treated in China. Thus, it is the first time that domestic sewage was collected to dilute high-sulfate wastewater in this study to achieve simultaneous treatment of sulfate wastewater and domestic sewage in the anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR). The results showed that there were obvious separation of sulfate reduction phase and me... Autori: Peng Wu ISSN: 1843 - 3707 http://www.ecozone.ro/reviste.php?RID=27840 |
